I've created two new items this week, one from a pattern, and one sort of 'free hand'. The first is an animal print fabric head band. It ties around the bottom and with summer right around the corner (which means just throwing it up sans the blow-dry), I thought these would make the perfect stylish accessory. I'm planning on making a bunch of different prints and maybe selling them in sets of three.
What I made today was from a pattern but I did tweak it a little to what I wanted. It's a really cute tote/purse with cardboard in the bottom (I put it between the two bottom layers) to make it sturdy. It's not reversible but I've used two coordinating fabrics:

A "me" sized dress

Finally, I have sewn something that will fit me, not a baby or toddler (no short jokes, please)!! I was suppose to be in the British Isles this week but our trip was canceled due to the volcanic ash. So, I decided to sew. Here is the biggest project of the week:

It is sort of a babydoll style dress in navy blue with white dots. It has a contrasting white lining, darts, gathered front, and gathered cap sleeves. I learned A LOT of new sewing skills because most of these things I had never done before. Thankfully my mom was there to help with any questions I had!
