Although I've lived in the house for going on four months, I just couldn't figure out what to do with the bare walls...and something about nailing a bunch of holes and then not being happy made me reluctant. But, my recent trip to Ikea for frames and shelves inspired me! I bought two Ribba picture ledges (mine are 45 1/4" in length) and used this picture (also from Ikea) as inspiration:
I still need to figure out the exact placement on my frames and accessories and actually PUT pictures in the empty frames but I can work on that over time. For now I've used a combination of framed pictures I already had as well as some new Ribba silver frames picked up at IKEA.
*UPDATE: Here's what the living room looks like now...
I am loving your simple and easy DIY projects! SO inspiring!

Building a House of Love
Thanks, Katie! I try my best to keep it simple! :)
DeleteDid you screw the picture ledges into the walls, or did you use some kind of adhesive? Thanks for the inspiration!

I used the anchors and screws that came with the picture ledges (Ribba ledges from Ikea)!
DeleteLooks great! I was just wondering the length of the ledges you used.
ReplyDeleteHi Kristine! My ledges are 41 1/4" in length...or the longer of the two options if you click on the Ribba picture ledge link via Ikea in the post above! Thanks!
DeleteI love the homage to Bob Marley. Did you make the "Every Little Thing..." art or purchase it?
ReplyDeleteHi Laura!
DeleteI made it myself using Photoshop! Gotta love Marley! :)
I love your wall color! What color of paint is it?
ReplyDeleteHi Brittany- The wall color is 'Pussywillow' by Sherwin Williams!
DeleteHow much overlap do you have on your photo ledges?
ReplyDeleteWhere'd you get the pillows in the last picture? I love them!
